| TAYLOR'S Bar features a cafe bar downstairs offering a great atmosphere to have a drink and socialise after a hard days work. Upstairs is a quaint Polish themed restaurant offering good value food of exceptional quality served in a friendly atmosphere. The venue has recently been refurbished by its owners and as part of this revamp LED Lighting Technology were approached to design a new lighting system for the cafe bar. Due to the fact that LED Lighting is modular it was decided to phase the installation over a period of months so as not to cause disruption to the operating of the business and also allow for capital funds to be raised through a trading period. Phase one which is now complete concentrates on the bar servery area and bottle display to the rear of the servery. Phase two will expand the LED Lighting into the main cafe bar area with phase three illuminating the exterior of the building.

The emphasis on the bar area was to create a seamless colour change effect that would saturate the bottle display, glass shelves and mirrors with vibrant colour. This was achieved by installing six module 3 RGB modules into MR16 down-lighters fitted into the ceiling above the bar. A lightbox was installed with a clear Perspex lid to which an array of bottles could be stacked on top. Illumination to the lightbox was provided by eight of Tryka's flexible LinkLED RGB modules giving exceptional light output.

Control of the system was to be provided by the unique and discreet Infrared Remote Control System. This consisted of a Infrared detector fitted behind the bar, this unit is so small it is almost invisible. A handset similar t a TV remote control is provided to give wireless control of the system from a range of upto 10 metres. The facilities on this handset include on/off, static colours in red, blue, green, magenta, gold, cyan and warm white. The system also allows for seamless colour fades at four pre-set speeds to suit the mood of the evening.
All that remains is to look forward to the next phase of this exciting installation.
